Our Pre-School Skating Programs are designed with a strong element of play to encourage and capture the attention of young skaters. Our main focus for this age group is to develop balance and confidence. This is an optional program designed for students age 4 who prefer a 30 minute class over our Learn to Skate Program which are 1 hour classes. Students learn to stand up, march forward and backwards, stride technique forwards and backwards, sculling and stops.

Our Learn to Skate Program focuses on developing the basic fundamentals of skating. Students are grouped according to similar age and skill level. This Program is designed for children ages 4 and up and are 1 hour in length. Our coaches use unique hands on coaching techniques! We guarantee small group ratio’s of 1 coach to 5 or 6 students to ensure that every student receives the attention they need to succeed. This program consists of a 50 minute technical lesson and 10 minutes of game time. We provide hockey sticks and toys for skaters to enjoy! This program is the stepping-stone to our Power Skating, Hockey and Figure Skating Programs.

Our Hockey Fundamentals Program is designed for skaters at any age that have the desire to learn new skills and further develop existing skills needed to succeed within a game. The classes are structured around the complexity of skating techniques, while instilling the rules/regulations and safety of the game. We train our students on enhanced skills such as stride development with a stick, stick and puck control, passing, shooting, positional play and tactical knowledge. Each skill set is incorporated into every lesson and provided in a safe, positive and fun environment. The hockey program is co-instructional, meaning that the class is divided up into three sections that may involve other coaches. 40% is focused on skating abilities, 40% is focused on individual stick and puck skills and the last 20% is focused on game play scenario/scrimmage. We cater to anyone that wants to enjoy playing the game for years to follow while supporting an active lifestyle.

At Glide Figure Skating Academy we strive to build confidence and self esteem within each skater. The figure skating coaches have an extensive competitive figure skating background at the national level and are here to share their experiences with you. This program is designed for skaters who are 16 years of age and up. If you’re a beginner or coming back to the sport to brush up on your technique, this is the right program for you! Learn the basic fundamentals of skating at a series of different levels within groups exclusive to adults. Skaters will develop their skills at their own pace to help elevate their comfort on the ice. Parents come learn to skate so you can enjoy it with your children! Come out for fun and great exercise!
